Chamber plans town meeting
Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce will host an informational town meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Scioto County Welcome Center, 342 Second St. Doors will open to the public at 6:30 p.m.
“It is not our intention to take a position on any of the upcoming issues,” said Robert “Bob” Huff, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce. “We feel it is important to inform the public so that they can cast an educated vote.”
The town meeting will inform the public of the facts on the proposed Law Enforcement Tax Levy, proposed city charter changes, and the Marting's building renovations issue.

Railroad crossing gets repairs
The railroad crossing on Robert Lucas Road, Lucasville, will be closed for repairs starting Monday through April 21.
Absent voting continues at board
Absent voting for the May 2 Primary Election continues in the office of the Scioto County Board of Elections at the Scioto County Courthouse, 602 Seventh St.
People who wish to vote absentee must produce their birth date and last four digits of their Social Security number.
Absent voting by mail ends at noon April 29. Absent voting in the office of the board ends at 4:30 p.m. May 1.
