According to Nile Township Fire Department Chief Barry Davis, members of the Nile Township, Washington Township and South Shore, Ky., fire departments responded to the scene Saturday night. After initially putting out the fire, firefighters had to return early Sunday morning and again Sunday afternoon to extinguish the fire when it rekindled, he said.
The house belonged to Jonas Blevins, and housed a family of four. No one was in the home at the time of the fire. Davis said donations can be directed to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army.
