Wheelersburg did not get a chance to work on its free-throw shooting a lot against Valley on Friday.
The Pirates got to work on everything else, though.
Wheelersburg made only three foul shots in the 81-47 win, but counterbalanced that by making 37 shots from the field.
Cam Miller scored 22 points to lead the Pirates and Drew Spradlin knocked down three 3s and contributed 20 points as the team improved to 17-2 on the season.
A big 29-point quarter helped the team separate from the Indians.
“It was a big quarter for us,” said Wheelersburg coach Tom Barrick. “We got out in transition and pushed the ball well. We shot well and our defensive intensity picked up in the second.”
Tyler Merritt led Valley with 12 points.

The Senators picked up a solid win on the road as the team got 16 points from Jerrod Pendleton and 13 from Mat Auger. West also won despite Waverly hitting five 3s to none by West.
West coach Don Gibson, however, said Austin Seevers' defense on the Tigers' Justin Hilton was the difference.
“In the first half (Hilton) scored 11. In the second half, he scored five,” Gibson said. “Seevers did a tremendous job and that was really the difference.”
Boyce Jordan had eight points, 10 rebounds and eight blocks for West.
