Run the football, play smothering defense, run it some more. Quite a simple gameplan, but for Valley, it was all too effective again.
The Indians had three runners in triple digits and Columbus Bishop Ready's offense never got on track as Valley powered another foe into submission, 28-6 on Friday in the second round of the Division V playoffs. The win sends the Indians to the team's first regional final since 1997.
So, is it that simple?
“It is whenever your kids execute,” said Valley coach Darren Crabtree. “That's what we've been able to do all year. The last two weeks, the kids have prepared well. They know what they're doing. (The opposition) knows what we're doing, but we're just out-executing them.”
