The Clay Alumni Association will have an auction and bake sale from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Rosemount Elementary School, 4484 Rose Valley Road, Rosemount. There will be chili, hot dogs, chips and pop, as well as party goods, decorations and wrapping paper.

HEAP applications are to be taken

A representative of the United Scioto Senior Activities Inc. Scioto County Multipurpose Senior Citizens Center will take applications for the Home Energy Assistance Program from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Portsmouth Public Library, 1220 Gallia St. Applicants should bring proof of income and Social Security numbers for all household members, as well as the last paid fuel bill. Golden Buckeye Card applications also will be taken.

In-home assistance is available for those who are unable to make application at a sign-up site. Call the Senior Center at (740) 354-6672 to arrange a home visit by outreach worker Esther Schwamberger. Applications also may be obtained at local banks and bank branches, the Senior Center, the Scioto County Community Action Organization and its Senior Nutrition sites.

Assistance is available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the USSA Inc. Scioto County Multipurpose Senior Citizens Center, 117-119 Market St.

Emergency assistance is only available through the Scioto County Community Action Organization.

Advance directives are explained

Health care providers and attorneys will be available to answer questions about advance directives - particularly living wills health care powers of attorney - and to help complete these documents if participants desire. Schedule includes:
