MCDERMOTT - A day after Wheelersburg and West squared off on the football field for the SOC II championship, the two schools were at it again, with the teams once again staking the fate of their respective seasons on the outcome of the game.
Playing in the volleyball sectionals, the Pirates were able to duplicate the success of the previous evening, dominating a West team they had struggled with in their two prior meetings this season, winning 25-15, 25-14, 25-11.
In earlier action, the Minford Falcons and Portsmouth Trojans also repeated their football matchup from the previous evening, but the Falcons were able to reverse their fortunes, claiming the game in straight sets, 25-20, 25-20, 25-23.
