Since 2005 Ohio Valley Gold and Silver Refinery claims to have purchased more than $200 million in rare and collectible items.
“We are here and are making offers to the people of Portsmouth and the surrounding areas on any of their old gold jewelry, silver jewelry or coins and collectables,” said Fred Dillion with the Ohio Valley Gold and Silver Refinery.
According to ohiovalleygoldandsilver.com, “Nearly all coins, vintage jewelry, musical instruments and toys made prior to 1965 are highly sought after. We want to help you find new value in old items that you might otherwise discard.”
When the crew from the Ohio Valley Gold and Silver Refinery arrived at the Scioto County Welcome Center on Tuesday there were several people waiting for them.
“We’ve been really busy so far today and we are moving the people through as fast as we can,” Dillion said. “Not to worry, though, we will take a look at your stuff.”
Dillion said there has been a number of good items that have been brought in.
“We had a lady come in with a rare necklace that was broken in half and she walked out with a check for $400,” Dillion said.
Representatives from the Ohio Valley Gold and Silver Refinery will be at the Welcome Center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
