According to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call Saturday, Aug. 6, from a Wilson Street address in the Sciotoville area, that someone’s house had been broken into and several items had been stolen, including cameras, computers and tools. Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini said Porter Township Community Policing Deputy Luke Jenkins responded, and found Mitchell.
Jenkins said he searched the residence and garage, where some of the stolen property was found.
While detained in the cruiser as Jenkins was investigating, Mitchell reportedly broke the window of the cruiser and fled on foot. Deputies found him between some houses, where he was again taken into custody and transported to the Scioto County Jail and held on $25,000 bond.
Mitchell was seen Aug. 12 in Portsmouth Municipal Court and the grand jury returned its public indictment on Friday.
