Scott Bailey, 42, of Norwich Ave., Franklin Furnace, turned himself in to Portsmouth Municipal Court on Monday after Scioto County Sheriff’s detectives and deputies had made several attempts to arrest him at his home.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said detectives for the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office filed charges of one count of importuning, a fifth-degree felony, and illegal use of a minor in a nudity performance, a second-degree felony, after they had received a report Aug. 17, that juvenile girls were at a house in Franklin Furnace where an adult male had one of the juvenile girls perform sexual acts in front of him in a “truth or dare” game as he and others watched.
Donini said a detective responded to several Franklin Furnace residences where juvenile girls and parents were interviewed, telling investigators they had seen pornography and juvenile girls nude on Bailey’s computer, which led to a search warrant to be issued and served at the suspect’s residence where computers, discs and cell phones were impounded and sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation for processing.
Donini said it is likely more charges will be presented to a Scioto County grand jury on a later date pending the results from BCI&I.
Bailey will appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Friday.
Donini said the quick work leading to the filing of the charges was the result of the joint effort of the deputies and detectives who collaborated in the case.
