Benefit concert is Aug. 22

A benefit concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at the Southern Ohio National Gospel Stage at the Wheelersburg Cinema, 8805 Ohio River Road, Wheelersburg. Admission will be free.

The concert will features the Plymouth Heights Nazarene Choir, FM (Corbin Fitzpatrick and Louie McNeal), Joy Jones and the Jones Boys, Lee Ann Bower, Terry Hall, and Kaleb Wright.

All proceeds will be used to finance a trip for a 75-year-old veteran to visit his 91-year-old mother in Missouri, whom he hasn’t seen in 12 years.

HEAP assistance is available

Through the Ohio Benefit Bank, the Potter’s House Ministries in Sciotoville offers help in signing up for Home Energy Assistance Program. For more information or to schedule an appointment call (740) 776-4004.

Screenings are available

Life Line Screening will be offering several screenings on Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Sciotoville Church of the Nazarene, 518 Sycamore St., Sciotoville. For more information about the screenings and cost or to register call (800) 324-1851. Preregistration is required.

Yard sale benefits Habitat

Scioto County Habitat For Humanity will be having a yard sale on Saturday, Aug. 20, at All Saints Episcopal Church, on the corner of Fourth and Court streets. Items to be sold include a stain glass door, 400 square feet of ceramic tile and took boxes. All proceeds from the event will benefit habitat.
