Born May 18, 1925 in Scioto County, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Bessie Lewis Smith, was a homemaker and member of Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene. Also preceding her in death was her husband, James Curtis Whisman.
Surviving are sons, Raymond (Naomi) Whisman of Lancaster, Wayne (Barbara) Whisman, Fred (Kay) Whisman and Gerald (Angie) Whisman, all of Columbus, and Ralph “Ed” Whisman of Portsmouth; daughters, Linda (Charlie) Colegrove of Waverly, Reda Kay Whisman of Powellsville and Alice Weaver of Powellsville; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Tim Throckmorton officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service.
