The results are in! The Boneyfiddle Arts Center (BAC) has announced the winners of its amateur photo contest.

The theme was “Summertime,” and the winning photos will be unveiled Friday at the opening of the new art show.

The first-place winner is Charles Tackett, with second place going to Barbara Sue Raynard, and Marcia Williams taking third. Three additional contestants, Kenneth Carlson, Barry Carlson and David Wilson each received an honorable mention for their photos. The prizes for the winners were $75 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place.

Contest guidelines stipulated that entrants must not have sold photographs professionally and must live within an 85-mile radius of Portsmouth. The contest was open to all ages.

The top photos will be on display starting Friday until Sept. 10 as part of the new show at the BAC.

There will be an opening night reception Friday at the BAC. All participants in the photo contest are invited to attend free. Other reception guests are asked to make a donation of $15 per person or $25 per couple. The public is welcome. Proceeds will go to the Boneyfiddle Arts Center.
