11 arrested in city-wide drug sweep

Five days after 13 men and women were charged in a prostitution sting, Portsmouth Police were busy arresting 11 people in a drug sweep.

All individuals were arrested following drug investigations conducted over the last several months.

Jeffrey A. Scott Jr. 30, of 1511 Fifth St., Johnny D. Scott, 44, of 1653 Seventh St., Portsmouth, each face a charge of trafficking in drugs (oxycodone) in the vicinity of a juvenile or a school; two counts of trafficking in drugs (oxycodone); four counts of possession of drugs (oxycodone); and possession of criminal tools.

William “Mike” Young of 1227 Hutchins St., Portsmouth, is charged with three counts of trafficking in drugs (oxycodone) in the vicinity of a juvenile or school; and three counts possession of drugs (oxycodone). Additional charges include trafficking in drugs (oxycodone) in the vicinity of a juvenile or school; and possession of drugs (oxycodone).

Christopher R. Adkins, 32, of 320 Dunlap Rd., Portsmouth, will face charges of trafficking in drugs (oxycodone) and possession of drugs (oxycodone).

Sarah B. Sprague, 31, and Larry J. Riddle, 42, both of 1809 Wayne Ave., Portsmouth, will be charged with one count of trafficking in drugs (oxycodone) in the vicinity of a juvenile; two counts of trafficking in drugs (oxycodone); three counts of possession of drugs (oxycodone); a count of possession of drugs (Alprazolam); and one count of possession of criminal tools.

Summer Magnatta, 28, and Fred “John” Magnatta Jr., 35, both of 218 Ohio Ave., New Boston, face one count each of trafficking in drugs (crack cocaine) in the vicinity of a juvenile; trafficking in drugs (crack cocaine); possession of drugs (crack cocaine); possession of drugs (crack cocaine); permitting drug abuse and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Roger Arrowood, 36, and Angela L. Lyon, 33, both of 1617 High St., Portsmouth, will be charged with trafficking in drugs (oxycodone) and possession of drugs (oxycodone).

Kendra Harding, 31, of 1508 Linden Ave., Portsmouth, will be charged with trafficking in drugs (oxycodone) in the vicinity of a juvenile; five counts of trafficking in drugs (oxycodone) in the vicinity of a juvenile; a count of trafficking in drugs (oxycodone); two counts of possession of drugs (oxycodone); one count of possession of criminal tools; possession of drugs (Alprazolam); and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Horner said Young, when arrested, was in possession of 50 30-milligram oxycodone tablets with a street value of $1,750, and $796 cash.

All were multi-count indictments. Portsmouth Police Chief Charles Horner said additional arrests are expected to be made in the next several days.

“As the chief of police, I would like to take the opportunity to express my appreciation to those citizens and members of other agencies that assisted in these investigations,” Horner said. “The Portsmouth Police Department is committed to fighting the prostitution, crime and drug problems facing our community. I would like to acknowledge the work and dedication of the Portsmouth Police Department officers, detectives and employees.”

After reading the locations of all of these thugs, it doesnt look like their is a street in the city that doesnt have trash living on it, they are everywhere!

Was this drug sweep part of the prostitution sting a few days earlier nabbing 13 sick individuals?
