WHEELERSBURG OH - Despite threatening weather all day long, the Southern Ohio Speedway persevered and completed race number two of the 2011 season. It was a special night as all veterans in attendance were admitted into general admission for only $5 and were honored during the night.

Delmas Conley and R. J. Conley led the field to the green to start the nights 25 lap Late Model feature. The two battled for the lead into turn one and nearly made contact off of turn two, allowing Harold Redman to get underneath of them and battle three wide for the lead. R. J. Conley would get the lead going into turn three with Redman right on his bumper.

With Conley and Redman running first and second, all eyes were on the battles back through the pack. Ninth place starter Jason Perry battled his way all the way up to third until he made heavy contact with the frontstretch wall, nearly flipping his machine.

Billy Gullion and Mark Queen, two drivers involved in an early caution, battled their way from the tail of the field to contend for top five positions.

Nobody would have anything for R. J. Conley though as he came across the checkers to claim the feature win. Redman finished second with Paul Davis third, Delmas Conley fourth, and Billy Gullion fifth. Delmas Conley won the dash while Kenneth Howell and Brett Kennard won heat races.

Luke Jordan and Adam Colley battled for the lead at the start of the UMP Modified A-Main. Jordan led the races first six laps with Colley peeking underneath of him each lap.

On a lap seven restart, Colley used the high side of the track to get around Jordan going into turn one and never looked back to claim the feature win.

Jordan finished second with Dan Aldridge third, Jake Keaton fourth, and Brunty fifth. Jordan and Colley won heat races.

David Dunn led at the start of the nights 15-lap Bomber A-Main. Dunn pulled out to a six car length lead until mechanical problems sent his machine pit side on lap four.

That allowed Conard Newman to inherit the lead as he dominated from there to take his second feature win in a row. Danny Aldridge finished second with Eric Dennison third, Keith Anderson fourth, and Travis Pertuset fifth.

The Southern Ohio Speedway will be in action next on July 29 for “Hall of Fame Night”.

On this night the Boyer family, Delmas Conley, Jim Patrick, Charlie Swartz, and Junior Spencer will be inducted into the inaugural SOS Hall of Fame. On the racing card will be Late Models-$2,000 to win, UMP Modifieds-$600 to win, Bombers-$400 to win, and Sport Mods.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with Hot Laps at 7:15 p.m. Adult general admission is $12 with pit passes $25. For more information visit www.southernohiospeedway.com.
