He was born April 1, 1938 in McDermott, a son of the late Clifford George “Babe” and Mina Violet Pulliam Marcum. John was a retired self-employed truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn “Bebs” Marcum; four sons, John H. Marcum Jr. of Spokane, Washington, Terry (Susan) Marcum of Fountain City, Wisconsin, Jernbergh D. Marcum and Skiler Marcum, both at home; two daughters Katrina (Russell) Case of Cochrane, Wisconsin, and Michelle (Larry) Jasperson of Rochester, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Philip “Butch” Marcum of Lucasville and Ronald Lee Marcum of Blue Creek; two sisters, Rosemary Jodie Smith of Bethel, Ohio, and Patricia L. Harris Shope of Otway.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Pete Marcum; and one sister, Birdie Jean Chaffin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville. Burial will follow in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and for an hour before the services Tuesday.
