He was born May 16, 1929, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Leonard and Clarcie Ratliff Logan.
Luther was retired from the clerical department of Empire Detroit Steel, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a Valley High School graduate.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise Kinder Logan, whom he married Dec. 20, 1958 in Sciotoville; one daughter, Debi (Mike) Bowen of Hernando, Fla.; one son, Brad (Tracy) Logan of Lexington, Ky.; five grandchildren Joshua Logan, Nicole Bowen, Amy Bowen, Alison (Donnie) Bowen McBride, and Ashley (Andre) Lackland-Denton; six great-grandchildren, Riley and Caleb Logan, Eliana and Micah Lackland-Denton, Andrew and Alexis McBride; two brothers, Roger (Kay) Logan of Bellevue, Ohio and Bob (Helen) Logan of Sebastian, Fla.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; one brother, Delmar “Perk” Logan; and one sister, Sharon Logan Wilson.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Sunshine Church of Christ in Minford with Steve Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens where graveside military rites will be performed by the William A. Baker and James Irwin Posts of the American Legion. Friends may call Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and for an hour before the funeral Monday at the church.
