Rosalee Chochard, 73, of McDermott, died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

She was born July 3, 1938, at Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Raymond and Leona Evans. She was a former employee of Williams Manufacturing, a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Northwest Band Boosters, and Morgan Township 50 Plus Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Chochard, June 10, 2004. Surviving are three daughters, Julie Chochard Bailey of Piketon, Connie Chochard of Gaithersburg, Md., and Sandy Chochard Chew of Lucasville; two grandchildren, Catrina Wiles and Marvin Chochard Gillespie; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Gillespie and Elizabeth Gillespie; four stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Evans of Pinellas, Fla., and Ronald Evans of Pond Creek; four sisters, Phyllis Willis of Lucasville, Maxine Burton of Seymour, Ind., Virginia Piatt of McDermott, and Janet Bennett of Wheelersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Evans and Fred Evans; and one sister, Marilyn Throckmorton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Otway, with Rev. John Statmiller officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Friends may call at Melcher Funeral Home in Portsmouth from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Recitation of the Rosary will be 8 p.m. Sunday at Melcher Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Act of Kindness in Memory of Rosalee or Northwest Band Boosters.
