Daymar College in New Boston held a patriotic picnic Wednesday to celebrate the veterans of the school and of the community.

“Today, we are having a patriotic picnic to say thank you to our veterans. We’ve got some veterans here at the school,” Daymar College spokesman Mike Bell said. “This is another way we can give back to the community,” Bell said.

Bell said Daymar typically holds a patriotic picnic every summer around the Fourth of July, which includes a number of activities, including cornhole games, inflatables and a dunk tank.

In May, Bell organized a first responders parade to show appreciation for those in the community who put their lives on the line every day to help others.

“At Daymar College we are community-minded, because the community does so much for us. This is our way of giving back to the community,” Bell said.
