He was born July 12, 1941 in Sciotodale, a son of the late James and Thelma Richmond Slone. He attended Harrison Mills Church of Christ in Christian Union, was a former New Boston Coke employee and was a U.S. Marine veteran.
Pat is survived by his wife, Carol Young Slone; two sons, Patrick Slone II and wife Jackie of Portsmouth and Dr. Jeremy Slone and wife Amanda of Nashville, TN; one daughter, Mistilyn Estes and husband Jeremy of Lucasville; two sisters, Nola Ruth Kelley of Lucasville and Loena Luther of Roseville, MI; four brothers, Paul Slone of Grovetown, GA, Donald Slone of Wakefield, John Slone of Wheelersburg and Joe Slone of Seattle, WA; four grandchildren, Mariahlyn, Mason, Andrea and Claudia Kay. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Roy and Junior Slone and Kenny Friend and a sister, Patricia Slone.
A celebration of life was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Minford Nazarene Church with Rev. James Jolly and Rev. Harold Cox officiation. Interment will be at Memorial Burial Park with military honors by the James Irwin Post 622 American Legion of Minford. A gathering of friends was from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church with arrangements being handled by D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston.
