She was born July 21, 1933, in South Webster, a daughter of the late Harry Frederick Bauer and Edna Elsie Conkey Bauer. She was a housewife and “Nana” and was a member of Bloom Free Will Baptist Church and a 1950 graduate of Bloom High School.
She is survived by her husband, Paul F. Oppy, whom she married July 1, 1950, in South Webster; one son, Larry Dean Oppy and wife Sandy, of Wheelersburg; four daughters, Nadene Roberts and husband Charles, of Middleburg, Fla.; Priscilla Stiles, of Newark, Ohio; Barbie Sowards and husband Michael, of Amelia; one brother, Lloyd Bauer, of Mango, Fla.; one sister, Juanita Shamhart, of Wheelersburg; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Oppy, and two brothers, Chester and Carl Bauer.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Bloom Free Will Baptist Church, with Kenny Klaiber officiating, with interment at South Webster Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
