Deputies in Greenup County, Ky., on Sunday apprehended a suspect wanted in West Virginia in connection to a shooting incident.

According to the Greenup County Sheriff’s Department, Leo Buggs, 32, of Columbus, had a fugitive from justice warrant for his arrest out of West Virginia for being involved in a physical altercation with another man. During the altercation, deputies said Buggs produced a firearm and fired one shot, striking the other man in his neck. Buggs is also wanted in West Virginia for being a felon in possession of a firearm, deputies said.

Deputies from the Greenup County Sheriff’s Department Drug Interdiction Division said they found Buggs in South Shore, Ky., at 1:31 a.m. Sunday in possession of narcotics and $730 cash.

In addition to his warrant, Buggs was also charged with possession of marijuana and giving officers a false name. He was taken to the Greenup County Detention Center.
