Having said that, I can tell you I really enjoy writing about area restaurants and their specialties.
Over the years I have written about the delightful taste treats at Crispie Creme, Hatti Beasley’s, Gatti’s, Fork & Finger and others.
In every instance there was something unique and delicious about each eatery.
It is widely known that my favorite pizza is Gatti’s thin and crispy BLT, so I finally got a chance to try another BLT at Pizza Hut on Scioto Trail where arguably the area’s favorite waitress, Donna K. is.
Donna K. had issued an invitation back several weeks ago, and I just had not gotten around to it until Thursday.
I can tell you the food is really good, but the friendliness of Donna K. is the punctuation mark on your dining experience.
She first brought me the BLT, and It was really delicious. The veggies were numerous and the bacon crisp and fresh.
Little did I know my eating adventure was just getting started.
Next up? The Chicken Ranch Pizza — big chunks of chicken in a ranch flavored sauce — it is bound to become a favorite of customers all over.
A bowl with something bubbling and sizzling was set before me next.
“That’s our Premium Bacon Mac and Cheese dish,” Donna K. told me. “That’s not your kid’s mac and cheese is it?”
She would be right again. I can’t explain it, but it is different from its name. You just have to see for yourself.
Just when I thought I had tasted it all, came another bubbling pasta dish — Chicken Alfredo. — If you like Alfredo, you will love it.
These are two of the new pasta dishes being offered by Pizza Hut.
Add to all of this the cheese sticks and sauce, and you have a table full of treats.
I would advise ordering them one at a time, so that you can savor the flavor.
“I really missed my customers,” Donna K. said. “I had to come back to see all of my friends and customers.”
Turns out she had been away for awhile, and if you haven’t stopped in to see her lately, I can tell you she is still dynamic, friendly, and one of those handful of people who can make you feel like you are the most important person in the place.
It was a great experience, and I can tell you I will be stopping in from time to time to enjoy the cuisine and visit with one of my favorite people, Donna K., voted by our readers on numerous occasions as the area’s best waitress.
My son Michael always says “there is no substitute for good service,” and Donna K.’s customers will agree with that 100 percent.
