SOMC Supervisor of Sleep Disorders Michelle Lyons will speak June 14 about sleep disorders, testing options and sleep apnea. Lyons brings 16 years of experience as a registered respiratory therapist and a registered sleep technologist.
Dr. Yinong Liu, medical oncologist at SOMC, will speak June 21 about cancer prevention techniques and the most common forms of cancer. Liu completed his training at East Tennessee State University and at the National Cancer Institute. He is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology.
OLBH hosts Cancer Survivor’s Day Event Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) once again will recognize National Cancer Survivor’s Day by hosting an event for survivors and family Sunday, June 12, at Bellefonte Pavilion, 2000 Ashland Drive, in Russell, Ky., from noon to 3 p.m.
Cancer Survivor’s Day has been a national event since 1988. OLBH began its annual event that same year. The occasion celebrates victory over cancer by both survivors and their family, as well as to encourage those individuals and family members currently battling the disease. At the event, survivors can relate their inspiring stories to attendees. Games, prizes, food and more will be part of the day’s festivities.

Greenlawn flowers to be removed All decorations are to be removed from the graves in Greenlawn Cemetery by Wednesday, according to the Portsmouth Department of Public Service.
Road work to close CR 84 in Brush Creek Knoxel Hill-Breckenridge Road, CR 84, in Brush Creek Township will be closed Tuesday through Tuesday, June 14, both day and night. The location of the closure is 0.15 mile from CR-40 Rocky Fork Road. Kuhn Construction will be repairing a road slip.
