According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Matthew Shoemaker, 22, of Pickerington was traveling west on Ohio 180 on Sunday on a 2002 Honda CBR motorcycle. Meanwhile, a 2008 Jeep Sahara operated by Pamela Arledge, 54, of Laurelville was traveling in the opposite direction. According to the OSHP, the motorcycle moved left of center and struck the Jeep head-on.
Shoemaker was transported by helicopter to The Ohio State University Medical Center for his injuries, where he was initially reported in critical condition. He died overnight.
Arledge, as well as two juvenile passengers were transported to Adena Regional Medical Center. They were treated and released with only minor injuries.
