It’s time to stop re-electing selfish politicians

I just received a letter from “Wounded Warriors Project National Processing Center” requesting help for our soldiers in Iraq.

As I read the letter, I thought back a few days ago when Congress wanted to shut down Medicare, Social Security and the pay to our soldiers who are now fighting to keep our freedom in America, but only a few were willing to take a cut in their pay.

These men we voted to represent us in Congress do not respect our soldiers enough to say, “Let’s make sure our soldiers who are fighting for our freedom are well taken care of.” Especially the ones who have been wounded fighting, and the families of the ones who gave their lives for our freedom.

I just wanted to ask

this question: Are we as Americans going to stand by and vote in men and women who have so little respect of our soldiers fighting for our freedom, and re-elect them to office that continually to think only of themselves, paying a high price for foreign oil when we have plenty of our own?

The money we spend or send to foreign countries would go back in our economy, create jobs in America for our unemployed. Lower our gas prices, which would in turn lower our costs of living, putting our money back in use for America and not foreign countries.

If we don’t get back to being a self-supporting nation we will go down with the rest of the world, think of this when you vote.
