Plant and yard sale is Friday

Edgewood Manor 1 will have its annual plant and yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the center, 10098 Bearcreek Road, Lucasville.

There will be clothes in all sizes, dishes, toys and more for 50 cents each for all you can get in a bag for $2 with the bag being provided. Most flats of flowers and hanging baskets will be $12 each. From 10 a.m. to noon, hot dogs with sauce, chips and cookies will be available for $2.50 each plate.

All proceeds will be used for residents’ summer outings and activities.

BPW announce card party

Business and Professional Women will hold its annual Card Party Tuesday, May 10, at the Friends Community Center, 1202 18th St., Portsmouth, The party will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. The card party raises money for the organization’s scholarship fund.

There will be BBQ, salads and desserts. Numerous door prizes will be distributed. The cost of tickets is $6 per person.

City announces summer hours

The Portsmouth Department of Public Service announces new hours for garbage pickup starting Monday, May 9. Garbage pickup will begin at 6:30 a.m.

Porter trustees announce cleanup

Porter Township will have spring cleanup from Thursday, May 12, to Saturday, May 21. Dumpsters will be located at Service Department, 8809 Green St., Wheelersburg, and the hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m, There will be no Sunday hours. No hazardous materials such as paint, oil, asbestos, etc. will be accepted. The dumpsters will be for Porter Township residents only.
