Audrey C. Heath (Thompson) Wooten, 83, of South Shore, Kentucky died Saturday April 30, 2011 at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

She was born November 22, 1927 in Portsmouth, Oh., a daughter of the late Colonel Heath and Icy Goff Heath.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Surviving are her husband, John Wooten, children; Linda (Art) Green of Portsmouth, Kathleen Payne of Niles, Michigan, Patricia (Phillip) Stanley of Rainier, Oregon and Beverly (Randy) Rucker of Minford, Ohio. One brother Harold Heath of Chattanooga, Tn. Eleven grandchildren; Jeffrey Carson, Phillip Stanley, Lori Payne Loucks, Rodney Payne, Christopher Stanley, Aaron Payne, Nathaniel Rucker, Wendy Glispie Damron, Timothy Stanley, Miranda Rucker Boerger and Keri Payne Surez, 34 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Thompson, a grandson, Nathaniel Rucker and two sisters, Ruby Cole and Helen Young.

Funeral services will be held  Wednesday May 4, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore with Rodney Payne and Ken Fergusen officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the funeral home.

There will be a memorial dinner following the services at Portsmouth Seventh Day Adventist Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers donations are requested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Dr., Memphis, TN 38105.

I had so much fun at Aunt Audrey's during my childhood, I think sometimes she thought she had an extra daughter :)

I am happy I have been able to see her at the last few reunions. I will miss her.
