A loophole has allowed the Shawnee State baseball team to advance to next week’s Mid-South Conference Tournament at Campbellsville University.

With Saturday’s field conditions at Branch Rickey Park unplayable, game three of a play-in series with Lindsey Wilson was cancelled. Since the Bears are the higher seed and the two teams split Friday’s double-header, the nod goes to Shawnee State

The Blue Raiders took the opener 5-3 while the Bears won the second game 5-2.

At press time, the MSC did not release the conference tournament brackets.

The host Tigers and University of Virginia-Wise earned first round byes as they were the top two teams in the conference.
