“We’ll sell tickets through Tuesday and anticipate more than 1,000 tickets being sold,” said Donna Arnett of the Chamber of Commerce.
Tickets are $15 each with seats located in the sun-moon deck.
The Cincinnati Reds will take on the Pittsburgh Pirates; the game starts at 1:10 p.m.
“The national anthem will be performed by Olivia Thoroughman of Minford High School. The first pitch will be thrown by Mark Hunter, the chamber’s distinguished citizen of 2010. The first pitch will be caught by Portsmouth Mayor David Malone,” Arnett said.
Recently, the Reds announced the retirement of longtime front office executive and Scioto County resident Gene Bennett after 58 seasons with the organization. Bennett will be honored on Portsmouth Day.
Tickets can be purchased though Tuesday during normal business hours from the Chamber of Commerce, which is in the Scioto County Welcome Center. For more information, call 353-7647.
