3 indicted on burglary charges

Noah J. Bloomfield, 19, of Wheelersburg and James L. Pigg, 30, of Portsmouth have each been indicted on 48 charges, while Timothy L. Groves, 19, of Portsmouth has been indicted on 44 charges by the Scioto County Grand Jury, which met April 2.

Charges include aggravated robbery, robbery, kidnapping with a firearm specification, felonious assault, aggravated burglary, theft and others.

Groves and Bloomfield had been charged in connection with home invasions Feb. 16 at 4244 Spruce St. and Feb. 17 at 314 1/2 Ohio Ave., in New Boston, in which two of the assailants were said to have had handguns. Since his arrest Feb. 24, Pigg had been on the run, police said, and had been the focus of a manhunt, and after a day-long house-to-house search was taken without further incident on March 25.
