A Ross County man has been killed in a two-vehicle crash on Ohio 41.

Dead is James Bowling, 30, of Lapperell Road.

The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, which occurred about a half-mile south of U.S. 50 about 8:45 a.m. Thursday.

Post Commander Lt. Mike Crispen said Bowling was driving south on Ohio 41. At the same time, Rodney A. Jones, 44, of Chillicothe was northbound operating a tractor trailer. Crispen said the preliminary investigation revealed that Bowling drove his vehicle left of center striking the rig head-on.

Bowling was pronounced dead at the scene by the assistant Ross County coroner.

Jones reported minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The OSHP was assisted by the Bainbridge Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
