Clyde Burton Potter, 72, of South Shore, Kentucky, died Monday, March 7, 2011 in Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

He was born in Letitia, Kentucky, May 4, 1938, a son of the late Clyde Potter and Nellie Dillow Potter.

He was a retired Carpenter, a former employee of the Empire Detroit Steel and the CSX Railroad.

He was the former president of the Stan Spence Little League and he dearly loved car races.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Marie Browning Potter, they were married Jan. 26, 1960, two sons, Clyde “Dianna” Potter Jr. of South Shore, Kentucky and Mike “Susan” Potter of Columbus, Ohio, two daughters, Lisa Mullens of Piketon, Ohio and April Wright of South Shore, Kentucky, two brothers, Benjamin V. Potter of South Shore, Kentucky and Landon Potter of Sevierville, Tenn., one sister, Julia Boggs of South Shore, Kentucky and two grandchildren, Colton Wright and Katherine Mullins.

He also was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Christopher and Patrick Mullens.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Roberson Funeral Home, with Rev. James Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Warnock Cemetery, Warnock, Kentucky. Friends may call Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky, from  6 till 8 P.M. on Thursday and from 10 A.M. till the funeral hour on Friday.
