She was born December 31, 1923 in New Boston, a daughter of the late John Wesley Ratliff and Bessie Craft Ratliff. She was employed at the former Williams Manufacturing Co. and most recently at Fashion Bug. Sadie was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and Wheelersburg Eastern Star #516.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Hayslip and husband Edward of Columbiana, OH; grandchildren, Amy and Jeff Podobnik of Pittsburgh, Andy and Loretta Hayslip of Arizona, James Patrick and Susan Hayslip of New Jersey; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cooper and Josh Podobnik, Conner Edward Hayslip, Hunter Patrick Hayslip, Trever Andrew Hayslip and Gabrielle Olivia Hayslip.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. “Junior” Combess; 3 sisters, Lillie Robbins, Mildred Hauld and Ruth Griffith.
Services will be 11 AM Monday, March 7, 2011 at Christ United Methodist Church in Sciotoville with Rev. Frank James officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM Sunday at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston and 10 to 11 AM Monday at the church.
