Felix Joseph Antonio Tony Diaz, 30, of Minford, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 2, 2011.
He was born December 16, 1980 in Portsmouth, the beloved son of Felix (Raquel) Diaz of Piketon, and Jody (Eric) Ratcliff Diaz-Barker of Portsmouth.
In addition to his parents, Tony is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Lynn Pommell Diaz, whom he married November 1, 2002 in Gatlinburg, TN; his four daughters, Kaleigh, Madisen, Hope and Bella, all at home; his sister, Felicia Jo Diaz of Dublin, and her fiance Aaron Taylor; his grandfather, Joseph Ratcliff of Portsmouth; his mother-in-law Janette Sparks of Coal Grove; and father-in-law James Pommell of Kitts Hill. Tony was cousin, nephew and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Florence I. Ratcliff, and Rosita and Carlos Alberto Diaz.
Tony graduated from Notre Dame High School in 2000. Following school, he worked as a model for Abercrombie & Fitch, as well as Karin Men. He was a former top sales associate for Dolce & Gabbana in New York City. He was also a gifted tattoo artist and he loved spending time outdoors, especially with his adoring daughters. He had an early affiliation with Living Waters Fellowship and Pastors Steve and Dicky Butts.
Tony received a Bachelor of Theology degree from Solid Rock Bible College in Monroe, Ohio. He was currently working on a Masters of Theology degree from the Life Christian Bible Institute. He was the owner of Diaz Enterprises, Inc. and a member of the Carpenters Union #437. He had a deep love for the Lord, his family and life. Tony had a calling on his life to preach the Word of God and had ministered at New Beginnings Outreach Ministries. He had a charisma that was contagious and extended a kind hand to anyone in need. Tonys eyes were filled with Gods love and his heart with compassion. He will be deeply missed by the many people whos lives he has touched.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Barry Pelphrey officiating and interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 8 pm, and one hour prior to services on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, Tonys family requests that memorials be made to the Tony Diaz Memorial, New Beginnings Ministry, P.O. Box 472, Piketon, OH 45661.
