Marilyn Irene Taylor, 78, of Lucasville went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

She was born April 6, 1932 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Herbert and Lula Stephens Johnson.

Irene was the former owner and operator of the former Taylor’d Health Care. She was a 1950 Clay High School graduate, received a certificate in health education, and an associate degree in psychology and dietetics. She was a member and past president of the Russell D. Williams Post 471 Ladies Auxiliary and New Smyrna Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She also attended Beech Fork Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter Carla (Mark) Emmons of Lucasville; one son, Phil (Cheryl) Taylor of Stout; four grandchildren Chris Taylor, Greg Taylor, Brian (Amanda) Taylor, and Nathaniel (Katie) McGlone; three great-grandchildren Reagan and Ethan Taylor, and Elijah McGlone; and daughter-in-law Dr. Sheung Ping Lai of Hong Kong.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Carlos Lee Taylor, Sept. 27, 1996; one son Dr. Robert Lee Taylor; and one sister Betty Myers.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Debbie Baer officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home.
