Bear's final score with four seconds left gave the Valley Lady Indians just enough to finish off the upset and send second-seeded Albany Alexander packing.
It wasn't easy for the Lady Indians, who found themselves down by 12 midway through the second and again midway through the third. However, they turned it around by outscoring opponents 21-10 in the fourth quarter.
The 10 points Albany Alexander scored in the fourth quarter were the fewest they scored in any quarter of the game.
"We played a little bit of zone and the girls really stepped up defensively," Valley coach Mark Merritt said.
Shelby Ellis helped Valley bounce out of their deep deficit with two key three-pointers that tied the game. With the score even and just seven seconds left, Valley got the ball back.
Three seconds later, Bear completed the comeback.
Valley will play the winner of Ironton/Proctorville at Waverly on Thursday.
