Portsmouth should cut losses and get out of city hall

Here we go again. Another problem at the city building. Leaky roofs, mold, and many more problems — now asbestos. This building needs to be demolished. There has already been much money spent to repair problems and the building is still old, dilapidated, and unusable. Cut your losses and get out.

The police and other departments could go into one of the buildings that have been deemed acceptable and "make do" until suitable alterations could be afforded. They

surely would rather do that than be in their temporary accommodations for the time being and then back into the city building with no hope of a better place to work. It is foolish to plan to move these departments back into the city building when there are better alternatives. All the money already wasted on the city building would have gone a long way toward necessary remodeling.

And the traffic situation. Quit acting like children about who is to make the decisions. The city councilmen, the mayor and the traffic planning commission could all

sit down around a table and work out the needs — one traffic light at a time, if need be. It's not worth fighting over. Put aside your pettiness and get it worked out.

It seems it is easy to discuss a tax increase and all agree. When you can work out these other problems as easily, then perhaps you will be worthy of your office.

1. Did the City annex Otway? Is that in Scioto County? If so, Ms Kay straighten your county out before you try to take on the City like that one county old boy who worked the petitions to recall Murray and his wife is on the Marting's Foundation board, I heard?

2. "Building Deemed acceptable" just a little vague on that one like the rest of your letter talking qualitative not quantitatively with focus and facts. You could be a councilperson, or county commissioner?

3. The Fire Marshall would not even let an Art Show in the Martings' Building what you all tried that end run. It's molded up like the Adelphia Building.

4. Murray had the police moving into the Gas Company building off Route 23? X Chief Bihl screwed that one up like they are doing the Mold contract that Murray got started.

5. You've seen nothing yet, you are talking nickels and dimes to rehab the City Building, though that's Ptown's Forte' rehab rehab and move, rehab and move, etc.

6. To move from the city building would cost you millions unless those developers for the casino would give you millions for the City Building LOT?

7. Like X-Chief Bihl do you have an interest in the City Building, are you another absentee landlord, we have enough trouble with the "present" ones.

8. You want them to manage moving out of the City Building and tearing it down when they can't even handle a simple Mold removal contract and in fact they allowed the mold to exist for 5 years before Murray start solving that problem?

Keystone Kops Galore.

9. Did I say you have all the disqualifications to become a city councilperson or even a County Commissioner another failed government.

10, Did you not read the Traffic article in the CC, Malone does not need the chief, nor the Traffic Committee he will handle it alone he said using the ODOT study that is now 4 to 5 years out of date and wants the city to buy Sonic, demolish it and cut that hill down like they are out in the country?

11. Traffic lights run as a system not one at a time, you could be Police Chief? Murray had a synchronized system for $17,000 to fix that. X Chief Bihl screwed that one up too.

12. Pettiness, wait a minute that was supposed to be all Murray, not the remnants in the leadership of the city.

13, You need to say incompetence and fools approaching Morons, I'm learning, look it up.

14. Traffic and Children, now your cooking that is if you had any standing like living in the city or was a person of interest, like a registered voter or land owner?

"Nice Letter, Brownie."
