Police say they arrested Dallas Honeycutt, 49, of S. Main St., Elkhart, on Feb. 1 after learning the possible whereabouts of Honeycutt. Authorities said he had been living at the residence for several months under the name of Dale.
Honeycutt is wanted in Scioto County on a probation violation for failure to verify.
“We were looking for him for the other county,” Scioto County Sheriff’s Capt. David Hall said. “He used to register here as a sex offender for several years until he moved out of state. The warrant was for failure to verify from the Probation Department.”
Authorities in Indiana had been trying to track down Honeycutt for nearly a year for charges that he also faces in Kosciusko County, including a count of child solicitation, a class-D felony, and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a class-A misdemeanor.
Honeycutt was taken to the Elkhart County Jail before being transferred to Kosiusko County. Following extradition, he is expected to be returned to Scioto County.
“He will come back here eventually to face the probation violation charge,” Hall said.
