OLBH hosts blood drive

Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH), in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will conduct a blood drive from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, on the campus of OLBH behind the main hospital building in Russell, Ky.

Current blood supplies in the region are critically low. Donating blood is safe and relatively painless. Trained nurses conduct the donation process and sterile equipment is used. Donations can help people suffering from a variety of health problems including anemia, bone diseases, lung diseases, kidney diseases, leukemia and many others. Donors should be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds and be in generally good health.

Kitchen Show is Friday

The Counseling Center Inc. will host The 1305 Guest House Kitchen Show featuring eco-friendly Tupperware from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 1634 11th St, The show will benefit the new 1305 Guest House.

The 1305 Guest House will serve as a place where out-of-town relatives can stay while visiting a loved one in treatment. It will also be used for The Counseling Center Inc. clients who need a space for overnight visits with their children.

The 1305 Guest House is in need of all kitchen items. In order to obtain what is needed, TCC is setting up a Tupperware party much like what someone would have in their own home. TCC will receive “hosting” credits from sales to purchase kitchen gadgets.

During the Kitchen Show there will be Tupperware items raffled, a demo at noon, refreshments, and the first 10 customers to place an order at the Kitchen Show will receive a free gift.

Valley trustees set meetings

Members of the Valley Township Board of Trustees will hold their 2011 business meetings on the second Monday and the last Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Community Building located at 459 Robert Lucas Road, Lucasville.
