That’s exactly what the Portsmouth Daily Times and Community Common have decided to do. Beginning Monday, Jan. 17, pet owners who want to show off their pet’s good looks or adorable personality can enter their pet in the contest by going to the papers’ websites at www.portsmouth-dailytimes.com or www.communitycommon.com and clicking on the Cutest Pet logo. Entries will be accepted starting Jan. 17 and the voting begins on Feb. 7. Once voting begins, entries will no longer be accepted.
The contest is free and open to all types of pets so take a picture of Bowser out in the doghouse, or Garfield lounging on the sofa and enter to win.
According to Cutest Pet Contest coordinator Stephanie Collins, local sponsors include Vandevort’s Ace Hardware, Petland, Southern Ohio Security, Ron Wright auto Sales, Fork & Finger, B&B Loan, Little Mozarts and Southern Ohio Medical Center.
The sponsors are offering valuable prizes to the winners including:
Ace Hardware — $250 in gift certificates
Southern Ohio Security — Home Security system
Petland — Five-gallon aquarium
Ron Wright Auto Sales — Car detail
SOMC — $50 Petland gift certificate
