Jack Verlin Bomar, 73, of South Shore, Ky., died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at the residence of his son.

He was born in Winterset, Iowa, May 29, 1937, a son of the late Olin Bomar and Evelyn Rinard Bomar. He was a retired logger and timber worker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriett L. Bomar, Aug. 18, 2001; one daughter, Rita Faye Bomar.

Surviving are one son and wife, Fred and Brenda Bomar of South Shore, Ky.; one daughter, Jeannie Wolfenbarker of South Shore, Ky.; a foster daughter, Kathy Helm White of Des Moines, Iowa; three brothers, Fred Bomar and Dan Bomar, both of Iowa, and Bob Bomar of Lancaster, Ohio; two sisters, Darla Flanery of Denver, Colo., and Kathy Quakenbush of Kansas; five grandchildren, Jason (Vickie) Meadows, Shawn Wolfenbarker, Megan (Joe) Lakes, Tabatha Bomar and Christopher Bomar; and two great-grandchildren, Jason Dean Meadows and Brandon Michael Lakes. Also surviving are his better half, Goldie and her wonderful family.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with Mark Cassidy, Donald Harr and Glenn Newsome officiating. Burial will be in Harr Cemetery in South Shore, Ky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday.
