Sole Choice announces its second annual Christmas gift to Portsmouth. Santa Claus will in the decorated lobby in Sole Choice (former Mitchellace Building) at the 830 Murray Street entrance on Friday, Dec. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. Santa will be handing out candy and taking present wishes from children. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.
The entire community is invited to bring their children, a personal camera to take pictures of their child, and to celebrate Christmas with the employees of Sole Choice Inc.

Legal clinic is Dec. 20
Southeastern Ohio Legal Services invites the public to attend do-it-yourself legal clinic concerning domestic relations issues, including custody, visitation and divorce, from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, in the Robert Copley Room of the Portsmouth Public Library, 1220 Gallia St. The required court forms will be provided, and court rules concerning the forms will be explained.
SEOLS is the legal aid law firm for low income individuals in Scioto County. For more information about SEOLS services and/or the clinic call SEOLS at (740) 354-7563 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is at 800 Gallia St., Suite 700, Portsmouth.
Rehearsals resume Jan. 11
The Shawnee State University Community Choir will resume rehearsals for the Spring Semester at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 11, in the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts, Room 130. Openings are available for all voice parts and tenors are especially needed. New members should arrive at 6:15 p.m. for a short interview and brief audition.
Returning members are asked to return all fall semester music at that time. Plans are being made for the spring semester concert.
