Roger Dale Penix, 56, of Greenup, Ky., died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, April 17, 1954, a son of Christine Clay Penix of South Shore, Ky., and the late William “Jack” Penix. He was a construction worker and a member of Local No.181 of Ashland, Ky.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Sue Glispie Penix of Greenup, Ky.; four daughters and husbands, Vickie and James Murphy, Angie and Dale Clark, and Crystal and Larry Wells, all of South Shore, Ky., and Jackie and Tim Meade of Greenup, Ky; four brothers, Steve Penix of West Portsmouth, Ohio, Doug Penix and Jeff Penix, both of South Shore, Ky., and Terry Penix of Portsmouth, Ohio; five sisters, Billie Floyd of Portsmouth, Ohio, Brenda Clary and Vivian Pennington, both of South Shore, Ky., Kista Childers of Westwood, Ky., and Judy Greenfield of West Portsmouth, Ohio; seven granddaughters and one grandson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with Evangelist Charles Lybrook officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. on Monday. Burial at the convenience of the family.
