Gail L. Bertram Welch, 65, of West Portsmouth, Ohio, went to be with her lord, Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 in SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born in Logan, Ohio, June 9, 1943, a daughter of the late Paul E. Bertram and Leatta Adams Bertram.
She was retired from Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio, and a member of the Rosemount First Apostolic Church.
She was preceded in death by, two grand daughters, Amanda Welch and Jennifer Welch, two brothers, Heath Bertram and Paul Lee Bertram and one sister, Phyllis Bertram.
Surviving is her husband, James O. Welch, to whom she married June 10, 1961, two sons and their wives, Scott “Celeena” Welch and Jim “Jane” Welch, both of West Portsmouth, two daughters and their husbands, Robin “Stephaun” Thacker of Minford, Ohio and Juetta Conley “Rick” Monteith of Lucasville, Ohio, two brothers and wives, Roy Lee “Mary” Bertram of Columbus, Ohio and Jerry “Bonnie” Bertram of West Portsmouth, Ohio and two sisters, Carolym Stidham of Columbus, Ohio and Pauline “Jim” Puckett of West Portsmouth, Ohio ten grandchildren, B.J. and April Ramsey, Travis and Emillia Ramsey, Shane Shortridge, Sephanie Conley, Benjamin Conley, Nickey Conley, Kristi Ramsey, Brittany and Randy Michell, Tara Welch, Abbigale Welch and Trevar Welch and seven great grandchildren and three special friends, Corey Russ Thelma and Leonard Ruggles.
Funeral services 1 p.m. Friday Jan. 2, 2009 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky, with Rev. Donald Hammond, officiating.
Burial will be in Scioto Burial Park at Rushtown, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Roberson Duneral Home in South Shore, Kentucky from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. Friday.
Kennie “Pete” Brewer, 91
Mr. Kennie “Pete” Brewer, 91, of South Shore, Kentucky, went to be with his lord, Thursday, Dec. 30, 2008 in Heartland of Portsmouth, Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born Aug. 1, 1917 in Kermit, West Virginia, a son of the late Melvin Brewer and Senora Spaulding Brewer.
He was a member of the South Shore Church of God, Second and Robbins in South Shore, Kentucky, he was retired from Columbia Gas as a plant supervisor and a member of the Kermit West Virginia Masonic Lodge.
Preceded in death by his wife, O. Marie Lockwood Brewer, Nov. 12, 1993, three brothers and three sisters.
Surviving is one son, Kennie R. Brewer of South Shore, Kentucky and one daughter, Sheila K. Smith of Lexington, Kentucky, two grandchildren and husbands, Melissa “Jeff” Holmes, Jay “Tracy” Brewer and three great grandchildren, Caden Holmes, Natasha Brewer and Casey Holmes.
Funeral services 11 a.m. Satuday, Jan. 3, 2009 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky with Dan Rowe, Minister officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetrey, Rt#1 South Shore, Kentucky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. till the funeral hour on Saturday.
