Virginia E. (Felty) Hannah, 95, of West Chester, Ohio, formerly of South Portsmouth, Ky., wife of the late Ernest Hannah, died Nov. 14, 2010.

She was born Nov. 8, 1915, in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of the late Oscar and Melvina (Fisher) Felty. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Millard O. Boggs (1937) and Tommy Hannah (2006); sisters, Thelma Lewis and Belva Felty; brothers, Robert, Ralph and Conroy Felty; and first husband, Millard Boggs.

She is survived by her daughter, Ernestine Hannah (Robert) Greenslate; grandchildren, Pamela McBroom (Kevin), Teresa Wheeler (Tracey), Gabe Hannah (Dana), Michael D. Watts (Nancy), Michael R. Greenslate (Jessica) and Brandon Greenslate (Michele); 12 great-grandchildren; and brother, Boyd Felty (Justine).

She graduated from South Portsmouth High School and Morehead State University. She taught in Kentucky, Maryland and Ohio schools for a total of 44 years. She was most pleased when former students visited to tell her how much they appreciated the education they gained from her teaching. She was a member of South Portsmouth Church of Christ, Radiance Chapter Order of Eastern Star and a Kentucky Colonel.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with Kevin McBroom officiating, and burial in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, Ky. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
