BURLINGTON — A husband and wife have been arrested on suspicion for the Thursday robbery of a Burlington business.

Jeremy S. McCann, 29, and Kimberly D. McCann, 28, both of 8029 Co. Road 107, Lot E, Proctorville, have been charged with aggravated robbery of about $750 from First American Loans.

According to a press release from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, Lawrence County detectives "obtained information on the location of the robbery suspects, which was 1603 Rear 7th Ave., Huntington."

Huntington police detectives arrested the McCanns at that location on the Ohio warrants.

Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless wrote in the release that the weapon, a BB gun, used in the robbery was recovered during the arrest. The gun was described by witnesses as a silver-colored semi-automatic handgun.

"My detectives have interviewed these suspects and they have admitted their involvement in this robbery," Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless wrote in the release. "No money was recovered and the suspects claim it went toward paying outstanding drug debts."

Both suspects are currently being held in the Western Regional Jail. According to the release, West Virginia will begin the extradition process early this week and the suspects will be returned to Lawrence County to face the robbery charges.

A representative from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office confirmed Saturday that Jeremy and Kimberly McCann were husband and wife.
