The Portsmouth Trojans defeated the Ironton Fighting Tigers 11-2 Monday evening in Ironton, Ohio.
Portsmouth jumped out with a quick score in the first inning, to take 1-0 lead over Ironton.
The Trojans then added two more runs in the third inning, before allowing a Fighting Tiger score.
Portsmouth continued to lead 3-1 until the fifth inning, when the Fighting Tigers scored another run to bring Portsmouth’s lead down to just one run, 3-2.
Ironton’s one run deficit didn’t last long as the Trojans brought in another four runs to take a 7-2 lead in the sixth.
As the seventh inning rolled on, the Trojans drove in another four runs and blanked Ironton, to take an 11-2 victory.
