Lady Pirates blank West, 10-0

In a battle for an SOC II victory, the Wheelersburg Lady Pirates defeated the Portsmouth West Lady Senators Wednesday evening, 10-0, in a five-inning game.

Faith Howard pitched her second straight shutout, in the win over the Lady Senators. The Wheelersburg hurler pitched all five innings Wednesday allowing only a single hit to West, and no walks. She also struck out seven batters in the contest.

Howard helped her own cause as well, going 3-3 on the night. She picked up one RBI, while scoring twice.

Kalle Coleman showed some power at the plate, sending a pitch over the fences for a home run. She brought in two runs and scored three times, while walking once, in her 2-2 performance.

Taylor McQuay got a pair of RBIs against the Lady Senators. She went 1-2 on the night, and also scored a run.

Makayla White had the lone hit for West Wednesday evening, going 1-2 from the plate.

West will host the Waverly Lady Tigers Friday evening. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m.

The Lady Pirates will be a part of the Wendy’s Classic on Friday and Saturday in Ashland.
