The Minford Falcons and the South Webster Jeeps went to battle Monday evening on the baseball diamond, with the Falcons coming up with the win over the Jeeps, 11-9.
Each team wasted no time putting runs on the board, as both the Falcons and Jeeps scored three runs in the first inning.
Minford would gain another run in the third, to take a 4-3 lead over the Jeeps.
After both teams scored twice in the fourth inning, followed by a scoreless fifth, South Webster would tie the game in the sixth inning, 7-7, after scoring twice and holding Minford to a single score.
It would all come down to the seventh inning, where Eli Daniels sent the Falcons soaring ahead with a grand slam home run.
Trailing 11-7 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Jeeps needed four runs to prevent a loss to the Falcons. Unfortunately for the Jeeps, they were only able to come up with two runs before getting their third out, finalizing the loss to Minford 11-9.
Both teams will meet again on Thursday, at Minford. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m.
