The Piketon Lady Redstreaks defeated the Waverly Lady Tigers, 44-42, Monday night at Piketon High School. In the first night of the Pike County Classic, the Lady Redstreaks pulled out a win over the Lady Tigers, as they held their two point lead going into the fourth quarter.
Brett Coreno’s Lady Redstreaks were led by junior Kara Blanton. She scored 14 points against Waverly, hitting five field goals, and shooting 80% from the free throw line.
Although Piketon didn’t have any other double figure scorers, Faith Pack and Avery Reuter had solid outings against the Lady Tigers.
Pack finished the night with nine points, while Reuter finished with seven points.
John Bonifield’s Lady Tigers had two players in double figures, Brittany Green, and Laken Smith.
Brittany Green racked up 15 points for Waverly, while Smith scored 11 points, and hit two of the team’s three three-point shots.
